More than 4,000 managed care decision-makers attended AMCP’s annual meeting last week. Attendees from all over the country came excited to discuss ways to manage pharmacy costs and improve patient outcomes. For many health plan executives, the AMCP Annual Meeting served as a great opportunity to explore new strategies in the space like how to leverage technology to improve their plan’s score on the adherence star measures. Star measures are determined by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and are intended to help potential members compare plans based on quality and performance. The adherence measures are triple-weighted in the calculation to determine a plan’s overall Medicare Star Rating meaning a health plan’s rating is heavily tied to its medication adherence efforts.
At AMCP 2022, health plan representatives were eager to visit the EveryDose booth to discuss how we can improve medication adherence in their plan’s diabetes, hypertension, and cholesterol patient populations. These populations comprise the CMS adherence star measures and are pivotal to a health plan’s performance. EveryDose offers technology that helps payers and healthcare organizations identify, prioritize, and engage their members who are either non-adherent or at risk of becoming non-adherent. Managed care decision-makers left the conference informed and enthusiastic about the support that EveryDose can offer their pharmacy teams and the innovation that we are bringing to medication management.
