Returning to Los Angeles
This year’s ViVE conference united over 7,500 of healthcare’s best innovators in Los Angeles last week to discuss the latest and greatest advancements within healthcare technology. Like recent conferences, all the buzz at ViVE 2024 revolved around digital health, AI, and how they can impact the healthcare experience for both patients and clinicians. For many health systems, the goal is to deploy AI in order to improve clinician efficiency and create more time for human, patient-centered care.
California-based system Sutter Health is tapping into tech to engage patients outside of the traditional healthcare ecosystem, said Chris Waugh, VP and Chief Innovation Officer at Sutter Health during a panel. “One huge bet for us is that we’re going to all the places where care doesn’t currently exist,” said Waugh. “We’re going to the 99.9% of time in a patient’s life when some type of health delivery ecosystem doesn’t exist, where the actual health is happening”. To do so, Sutter Health is turning its focus on digital health apps, AI, and remote monitoring for patient support. Digital health technology can serve as a scalable, patient-friendly way to engage patients outside the point of care and drive healthy habits in the home.
Looking towards new technology in 2024
Additionally, health systems are also turning their focus toward technology that can save their clinicians’ time by reducing administrative burdens. The average clinician may spend several hours per day filling out paperwork, drafting notes during patient visits, or documenting patient engagements. As clinician burnout continues to rise, health systems are eager to try out tech tools that can relieve some of the burden. New-York based system Northwell Health has committed to deploying AI automation to help their clinicians focus on patient care rather than administrative duties. “As we start to think about this world of increased automation, it’s about bringing people back to people, not replacing people with technology,” said Rebecca Kaul, senior vice president and chief of innovation and transformation at Northwell.
This year marked EveryDose’s third appearance at ViVE, where our team connected with several industry leaders and shared what we’re doing to support patients and clinicians through the medication journey. With the EveryDose mobile app, patients get all the features they need to manage their medications, overcome barriers, and build health habits at home. Similarly, EveryDose’s clinical portal empowers clinicians to connect with their patients in a unique way, providing actionable insights and fostering more meaningful between patients and their providers. EveryDose is innovating upon the status quo methods of patient engagement, eliminating the burden surrounding patient outreach and documentation workflows. As automation sweeps over the healthcare industry to provide a more seamless experience for providers, we’re doing our part at EveryDose to stay ahead of the curve and enable providers to focus on what matters most: the patient.
